Should Women wear a headscarf and not speak out in Church?

A place to find out more about our roots, ask questions about scripture, or of course what is kosher or not? A great place to really go deeper into scripture and lifestyle.

All right, come on! let me expand. How about the evrse that states that women should not dress the same as men?
heres some things I've thought about: There were times when men wore skirts, kilts, tights, and all. So does that mean at that time we should have worn jeans?
About the headscarf- After studying history, I realized that roman women (Pauls letter was adressed to the romans)HAD to wear a headscarf in public was Paul just telling them not to act out?

Are you referring to 1 Corinthians 11 and Deuteronomy 22:5?

Thanks for reminding me. There went my theory of the romans.
1 Corinthians 14 34: woman should be silent during church meetings. it is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says 35: if they have any questions to ask, let them ask thier husbands at home, for it is improper for them to speak at church meetings.

I guess theres my answer. Now, about the headscarf:
11:5 But a woman dishonors her husband (or head?) if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head for this is the same as shaving her head.6: yes, if she refuses to wear to wear a head covering, she should cut off all her hair. And since it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or her head shaved, she should wear a covering. Footnote: (or, she should have long hair) 10: So woman should wear a covering as a sign of authority because the angels are watching. 13: What do you think about this? Is it right for a woman to pray to G-d in public without covering her head? 14:isn't it obvious that it's disgraceful for a man to have long hair?15: And isn't it obvious that long hair is a womans pride and joy? For it has been given to her as a covering. 16: But if anyone wants to argue about this, all I can say is that we have no other custom than this, and all the churches of G-d feel the same way about it.

This is what confuses me! Does this mean that the hair is the covering, so we don't need cloth??
And about he speaking out in church meetings- does this mean church service, or board meetings? Does this mean that women should not be elders and deacons? We have women on our board, and it is obvious the they are women of the L-rd and that he is with them. The same goes for speaking out in church- my piano teacher has the gift of tongues, and her heart is all for G-d.
This is what confuses me! Also, can anyone find me the verse stating that women should not dress the same as men? I'm looking through the NT, but if anyone happens to know it, that would be nice. :)

Intresting question, here is my thoughts on it...

In Corinthians 11 it clearly talks about a women ought to cover her head, and man not cover his head. Who was Paul talking to and why did he bring it up? Thats my uncertainity in the questioon thus I cant expand much more...

As for the women being under sumbmission of the man, I think its lovely. One must understand it not a "control" thing about the man being the head of the women but an example of Yeshua's love for us. The women was made for the man so that he might become closer and more like our King Yeshua. Just like our pearents, who is the first one to influence ours dads? yes you guessed it our mothers, because the women is here to bring us closer to Hashem. Its also about the man guarding the women heart, thus being the head of her.
